The Selkirk Avenue business community came together at a meeting, September 3, hosted by the NEBDC and the Selkirk Avenue BIZ to meet with the project team and city representatives concerning the Selkirk Avenue reconstruction. The project which will see the water and sewer lines replaced and a complete roadway and sidewalk redevelopment for the area between Salter and Arlington. The project will be done in 2 phases, Salter to McGregor and then McGregor to Arlington. The first bit of work has commenced and will see the water and sewer lines replaced between now and the end of October. The roadway reconstruction will be undertaken in Spring 2016 and will last until Fall 2016. The business community met to hear of the preliminary schedule and to understand the potential disruptions that will take place on the Avenue. Those in attendance also had the opportunity to provide input into the streetscaping elements that can be built into the plan.
