The North End is a historic neighbourhood with unlimited potential for business. 

The North End Business Development Centre (Located at 607 Selkirk Ave) is responsible to work with local partners to create strategies and implement activities that support the business development plan through working with a local steering committee, representative of the business and local community.

Four key areas/objectives have been identified:

  1. Strengthening existing business/local business retention,
  2. Attracting outside business,
  3. Creating new business opportunities (private and/or social enterprise) and
  4. Creating a vibrant business environment.

Citizens’ Bridge

Citizens’ Bridge is a one stop shop for supporting clients in acquiring Canadian birth certificates and assisting in the process of other identifications, such as MPI photo ID cards, SCIS cards, MMF cards, bank accounts, and driver licenses. Its mission is to assist individuals with identification procurement, open bank accounts, financial  literacy workshops, and driver education course (CB does not produce photo ID of any kind).  We work in cooperation with 108 organizations who refer individuals to our program. Our goal is to connect with individuals who are looking for skills training, identification and financial literacy.

Hours of operation: Monday to Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday 9am-12pm and closed daily for lunch from 12pm-1pm

BCMP

Building Construction Mentorship Program (BCMP) is a partnership with Manitoba Housing and the local community as an employment and training program for NE youth and residents interested in the trade of carpentry and housing construction.
