This experiment sets the precedent that we can bring other public chain assets on to Ethereum in a synthetic way.” – Bowen Wang, DDEX Co-Founder”We’re excited about incorporating WBTC as an Ethereum-uncorrelated component into Sets. The introduction of WBTC greatly increases the coverage (by market cap) of crypto assets that can be represented in ERC-20 baskets.” – Felix Fang, Set Protocol CEO”Adding the ability to get BTC exposure will be a big step forward for the decentralized finance industry emerging mouse click on Yasasiikuruma Ethereum. We’re excited to integrate WBTC into Dharma and offer this product to our customers.” – Brendan Foster, Dharma Protocol Head of Growth Ops”While it’s improving, liquidity continues to be one of the biggest challenges for the ecosystem of decentralized applications, protocols and exchanges. We are excited to see the WBTC bring Bitcoin liquidity to the growing Ethereum-based decentralized ecosystem.” – Leor Tasman, Prycto CEO”We’re really excited to see functional cross-chain solutions coming to fruition.

The post makes a compelling case for the advantages of stateless oracles over existing DLC oracles which need to be aware of the contract at the time the contract is being created. As of this writing, the post had not received replies by other DLC contributors. The attestation could be transformed into signatures that would allow settling the DLC onchain. Individuals who trust that oracle can use that attestation in contracts without revealing to the oracle that a contract exists or what its terms are, among other benefits of DLCs. If they didn’t agree, any one of them could send the program to the oracle (perhaps with a small payment for its service) and receive back a BLS attestation to the program source code and the value returned by running it. While these strategies will only be used in accordance with the investment objectives and strategies of the BetaPro Products, during certain market conditions they may accelerate the risk that an investment in shares of a BetaPro Product decreases in value.
Vojtěch Strnad points out that pre-signed transactions can help accomplish the proposed spending conditions. This widget provides valuable insights into the current market conditions and can help traders make informed decisions about when to buy or sell Bitcoin. Stickies-v provides an overview of Bitcoin Script operators, how taproot enabled with MAST improves upon spending conditions from a privacy and feerate perspective, and points out that Script’s lack of covenants makes the proposed conditions impossible solely in Script. 2273 implements the proposed interactive funding protocol where two LN nodes coordinate more closely to open a new payment channel. The PR notes that, with this PR, “dual funding is fully supported by Eclair! Its release notes note that it includes breaking API changes but also numerous new features and bug fixes, including support for compact block relay data structures (BIP152) and improvements to taproot and PSBT support. ● Proof of concept coinjoin implementation joinstr: 1440000bytes developed joinstr, a proof of concept coinjoin implementation using the nostr protocol, a public key based relay network with no central server. ● Core Lightning 0.12.0rc2 is a release candidate for the next major version of this popular LN node implementation. ● Updated silent payments PR: woltx posted to the Bitcoin-Dev mailing list that the PR to Bitcoin Core for silent payments has been updated.
● Multiple derivation path descriptors: Andrew Chow posted a proposed BIP to the Bitcoin-Dev mailing list for allowing a single descriptor to specify two related BIP32 paths for HD key generation. ● Overview of channel jamming attacks and mitigations: Antoine Riard and Gleb Naumenko announced to the Lightning-Dev mailing list that they’ve published a guide to channel jamming attacks and several proposed solutions. A slight tweak to the silent payment design was proposed to address the issue, although it also came with trade offs. When it came time to settle the contract, each of the parties could run the program themselves and, if they all agreed on the outcome, settle the contract cooperatively without involving the oracle at all. They could then allocate their deposit funds according to the contract without even telling the oracle that they were planning to use it. The most significant of these is that it would allow “stateless” oracles where the parties to a contract (but not the oracle) could privately agree on what information they wanted the oracle to attest to, e.g. by specifying a program written in any programming language they knew the oracle would run. The onion message protocol doesn’t require a node which relays an onion message to track any information about that message after relay, so it can’t automatically send a reply back along the path the original message took.
