Adult Driver Training Program

Program Description

The Adult Driver training Program offers 16 hours of classroom training to prepare for the Class 5 knowledge test. One knowledge test is included and conducted at the end of the classroom training. The course also includes 4 behind the wheel practical training hours. Registration fee is $50.00.

Courses are available each month.

Classroom Training is done on weekdays, 10am – 3pm. 

In Car Training portion is available by appointment.  Currently only available during office hours 9am – 4:30pm

Please contact the Adult Driver Training Program Intake Worker at 204-691-9718 or email cbsupport@necrc.org once a referral has been sent to Citizens’ Bridge.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  2. Must be a Manitoba resident, living in Winnipeg.
  3. Never held a Class 5 Driver’s Licence before 
  4. Must NOT have outstanding fines or holds on ability to have a licence.
  5. Must be a low-income person.
  6. Must be unemployed or underemployed (less than 20 hours per week)
  7. Must have the required identification to apply for a drivers licence with Manitoba Public Insurance.
  8. Must be able to attend a minimum of 12 of the 16 hours of classroom training.
  9. Must be prepared to pay the initial licence fee of maximum $65.00.

Application Deadlines

Registration is available on a continuous basis.
