Housing

Tenant Landlord Cooperation (TLC)

The NECRC TLC Program (Tenant Landlord Corporation) works with landlords and tenants by providing direct advocacy to ensure tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities are protected, and by preventing displacement and encouraging healthy tenancies.  

Exterior Home Improvement Program (EHIP)

The Exterior Home Improvement Program (EHIP) is a grant incentive that encourages the maintenance of existing housing within the North End neighbourhoods of William Whyte and North Point Douglas. The program supports exterior home repairs affecting utility costs, safety, and overall beautification of the neighbourhoods. 

Employability

Citizen’s Bridge

The Citizen’s Bridge Program works in cooperation with over a hundred community organizations and Manitoba Employment and Income Assistance. Our goal is to connect with low-income individuals who are looking for identification, a bank account, and employment skills. 

Adult Driver Training Program

The Adult Driver Training Program offers two streams of programming;

Road to Your Learners is classroom instruction to prepare for the Class 5 Knowledge Test.

Ready to Drive is in-car instruction with a MPI Certified Driving Instructor to prepare for the Class 5 Road Test.

Building Construction Mentorship Program

Building Construction Mentorship Program (BCMP) is a partnership with Manitoba Housing and the local community as an employment and training program for North End youth and residents interested in the trades.

PATH Employability Centre

The PATH Employability Centre helps with the necessary skills to gain employment and for job readiness. 

Economic Development

NERI Small Grant Fund

We offer several grant programs to assist residents and businesses to improve their properties and instill community pride.

Storefront Enhancement Grant

Storefront Enhancement Grant (SEG) Program for local small businesses and non-profit agencies/organizations in the North End.

Community

Community Development

NECRC continues to work with stakeholders and local resident associations to address the needs of the North End Community through the development of partnerships, networking and building community capacity. We also facilitate the Recreation and Leisure fund.

Rec & Leisure Grant

The North End Recreation & Leisure Fund’s purpose is to support informal groups of individuals and North End community residents investing in their neighbourhoods.
